Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (10th Gift of 15) (1Number)

Happy Holidays! This is the 10th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “1Number”–got several phone numbers—which one to use to give to others to call you? You gotta remember all those numbers–one number for your Z-20, one number for your Z-4 Mobile, and another for your VP-200–oh my gosh, how can you handle this? With ZVRS’ 1Number–this is a godsend!!! You just pick a number (has to be from a Z-Phone) and tie all the other phones to that number which is your 1Number number. When people call you on that number, all the phones will ring and you can answer on any of those phones!!!

Another bonus from the Z!

Happy 1Number!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (9th Gift of 15) (Z Alert)

Happy Holidays! This is the 9th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “Z Alert”–Gee—don’t you want to be alerted when your call comes in? Simple–with Z Alert from ZVRS, your phone or pager will beep when a call is ringing on your videophone! If you have the phone number on your My Contacts list, the pager/email message will tell you who is calling–if you do not have the phone number on your My Contacts list, the pager/email message will tell you that someone from that phone number is trying to reach you.

You can specify which email address or addresses (up to 3) to send such notifications to on your profile.

It is a beauty–you will not be missing calls from anyone. Most importantly–it works for all phone calls coming in to your phone number!!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (8th Gift of 15) (Videomail-My Mail)

Happy Holidays! This is the 8th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “Videomail-My Mail”–ZVRS has the best videomail application of any of the VRS providers out there—your callers can leave a message and you can pick it up from your pager, your email or your Z-Phone. You can even create a custom video mail which shows you telling the other party “sorry, I am not available, can you please leave a message?”

It is a beauty–you will not be missing calls from anyone. Most importantly–it works for point to point or VRS on all Z-Phones, including mobile devices and your computer!

Happy videomailing!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (7th Gift of 15) (Our Interpreters)

Happy Holidays! This is the 7th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “Our Interpreters”–we love our interpreters! Each and every one of them is certified…they have to jump through hoops before becoming an interpreter with ZVRS…here’s a partial sample of their qualifications:

–must have national certification at or above NAD level 4, RID CSC, CI/CT or NIC and above, or state BEI or BEI advanced or above
–must have 3-5 years of community interpreting experience
–must have an extensive working knowledge of NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
–must have solid understanding of deaf culture
and more!!!!

This says it all–our interpreters are top-notch and we love and are proud of them! Remember our interpreters are 100% certified!!!

Happy ZVRS’ing!!!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (6th Gift of 15) (VCO Plus)

Happy Holidays! This is the 6th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “VCO Plus”–this is for you who can use the phone to speak your message to the other party but are unable to hear what the other party is saying. VCO stands for Voice Carry Over. With ZVRS, you call a video interpreter and if it is a VCO call, the interpreter will call the other party and you can speak through your Z-Phone handset or microphone to the other party. When the other party speaks to you, the video interpreter will sign (interpret) the message back to you. The beauty of ZVRS’ VCO system is that it requires only 1 phone line. Other VCO systems out there require you to have another phone in addition to your videophone. With ZVRS, all our Z-Phones have a microphone or a handset built-in so you can speak directly into the microphone or handset without having to use another phone.

Happy phoning!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (5th Gift of 15) (Address Book – My Contacts)

Happy Holidays! This is the 5th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “My Contacts (Address Book)”–this allows you to enter the name and phone number of your contacts in an address book on the web. You do not have to use a remote to type the name of your contact and the phone number. You use a regular keyboard on your computer. You need to do it once! You do not have to key in address books for different Z-Phones you use because the address book on the web goes to all the Z-Phones automatically. When you add or change the address book on the web, all the Z-Phones are updated automatically! One place for your address book–woo hoo!!!

Happy “Keying” without a Remote!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (4th Gift of 15) (DTMF Magic!)

Happy Holidays! This is the 4th “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “DTMF”–this is the name given to touch tone dialing….what is it? You do not have to spell out your credit card or your social security number to the video interpreter. You also do not have to tell the video interpreter to press “1” for “English”, or “2” for “Account Information”. Those days are over when you use ZVRS. With all of ZVRS phones and software, you just press your social security number or your account number on the Z-Phone )Z-20, Z-340, Z-Ojo, Z-150, Z4 and Z4 Mobile)keys—the interpreter will not see if and it passes thru to the other party you are calling. That is INDEPENDENCE, SECURITY and SAFETY for you!!

DTMF works only when you’re connected to the automated system or computerized system. It will not work when you’re connected to a LIVE person on the other end.

DTMF for engineers stands for Dual Tone Multi Frequency

Happy “Pressing”!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (3rd Gift of 15) (eZcall)

Happy Holidays! This is the 3rd “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “eZcall”–this allows you to click a number on a website to make a call. You need to do 2 things–download the Z4 Software for Mac or PC and also download the extension (add-on) for the browser you are using (i.e., Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome or Safari). Now it’s even easier to place a Z4 call from your computer with eZcall!

When browsing a web page, you no longer have to retype or copy/paste the phone number to place a call. Just click on the number that is highlighted to automatically connect to Z4.

Happy Clicking!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (2nd Gift of 15) (International Travel)

Happy Holidays! This is the 2nd “gift” from ZVRS–all the goodies we have to offer during the holiday season and beyond.

The “gift” is “International Travel”–this allows you to make international VRS or point-to-point calls. You can call from the US to overseas or from overseas to the US. You cannot call overseas to overseas, this is a restriction placed on all VRS providers by the FCC. In order to use international service, you have to register on our website, by going into your profile and then clicking “International Travel” on the left hand side of the screen, and then fill out a form. This form is good for 30 days and if you need to extend it, you can register again up to 2 times, meaning you can be abroad for close to 90 days and still use VRS or point–to point. If you are overseas more than 90 days, you will have to register from the US at that point.

Happy traveling!

Happy Holidays–15 Days of ZVRS! (1st Gift of 15) (My Phone Number)

Dr. Z has a surprise for his loyal readers…we know the song–“12 Days of Christmas” and we know that the Jewish folks celebrate 8 Days of Hanukkah—Dr. Z has come up with another version focusing on 15 “gifts” from ZVRS and he will be doing that until December 25th!

Here’s the first one from ZVRS…

The first gift is “My Phone Number”–when ZVRS gives you a phone number for your device…it is yours…it is yours to give to your friends, family and others to reach you. You “own” the phone number and it is how the world reaches you. Hold on to it for dear life…do not let others take the phone number away from you.

“My Phone Number”–one of the things that make up your “Z Life”!

Dr. Z cares about your communication access.
